Children's Cardboard Chair
This project was completed in the Furniture Design class. We were each assigned a different children's book and were instructed to design a chair inspired by the book's content. The book I was assigned was called The Fungus That Ate My School. The chair was to be built at full-scale out of cardboard with the structural integrity to withstand the weight of a child (or several children because we all know how unpredictable kids can be!). Once these chairs were completed we took them to a local preschool to read with the children and watch them interact with our designs. After our visit, the preschool auctioned off our donated chairs for the March of Dimes Foundation.
